KU enters a partnership with the Lithuanian Football Federation
Recently representatives from the Lithuanian Football Federation and Klaipeda University signed a partnership agreement.
This collaboration is mutually significant: it aims to utilize the potential of both parties trough scientific research, studies, joint projects, qualification enhancement, practical student training, and information dissemination. In addition, it is also estimated to have a wider impact by inspiring other project initiatives and boosting the development of football at national and international levels.
The agreement stipulates that, after completing additional UEFA courses organized by the Federation, KU Leisure Sports Football specialization students will be able to obtain UEFA C and B category coaching licenses.
“Previously, we congratulated Klaipėda University on starting their collaboration with FC Barcelona, and today we are delighted to officially confirm our partnership. We pay close attention to coaching training, and having an aligned view towards it between us and Klaipeda University is a promising sign – and a strong foundation for smooth and effective cooperation,” said LFF President Edgaras Stankevičius.
“This agreement will bring the forces of Klaipėda University and the Lithuanian Football Federation together to modernize football in Klaipėda and beyond. We are pleased that our students who aim for a professional career in football will be able to obtain a coaching license while studying and also take advantage of other emerging opportunities, ,” said KU Rector, Prof. Dr. Artūras Razbadauskas.
Aside from this partnership, Klaipėda University has been training children’s football coaches since September 2023. Their studies are based on the knowledge, experience, values, and philosophy that lies at the core of one of the world’s most famous football clubs, FC Barcelona.
